Stand for positive change

We’re so grateful — and genuinely excited — to have Nick Rado standing with Rodney Women’s Refuge as our Male Ambassador.

A familiar voice in comedy and radio, Nick is using his platform to help amplify a message our community needs to hear clearly: family violence is never okay, help is available, and every woman and child deserves safety, dignity, and hope.

Rodney Women’s Refuge supports wāhine and tamariki impacted by family violence across Rodney and North Auckland, providing safe accommodation, advocacy, and practical, client-led support. With Nick alongside our kaupapa, we’re strengthening community awareness, encouraging earlier help-seeking, and raising vital funds to keep local families safe.

Nick Rado is valued supporter of Hestia Rodney Women’s Refuge, contributing to our mission of providing safe accommodation and advocacy services for women and children affected by family violence in Rodney and North Auckland.

Nick says:

“Supporting Hestia Rodney Women’s Refuge is about making a real difference in our local community. Every woman and child deserves to feel safe, and I’m proud to stand behind an organization that provides such vital support during the most challenging times. The work they do isn’t just about providing shelter – it’s about rebuilding lives and creating hope for the future. I encourage others in our community to get involved and support this incredible cause.”

We are honoured to have Matilda Green as an ambassador for Rodney Women’s Refuge. Matilda first captured Aotearoa’s heart as the winner of “The Bachelor NZ” in 2015, and has since inspired thousands with her warmth, authenticity, and practical approach to life. As a television personality, brand ambassador, and author of two bestselling books—”The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Having a Beautiful Life” and “The Feel Good Guide”—Matilda is known for her positivity, empowering advice, and genuine connection with women across New Zealand.

A proud mum to Autumn, Penelope, and Milo, Matilda shares her journey through motherhood, wellbeing, and self-acceptance, encouraging wāhine to embrace confidence and joy in their everyday lives. Her commitment to uplifting others aligns perfectly with our kaupapa at Rodney Women’s Refuge, and we are grateful for her support in raising awareness and helping build a safer, more compassionate community for all.

Matilda says:

“Every woman and child deserves to feel safe in their own home, but unfortunately home is not a safe haven for everyone. Hestia Women’s Refuge does an incredible job in supporting women and children who have been through trauma that no person should have to experience. They are an essential service in our community for our wāhine and tamariki affected by domestic violence who need support and a safe place to go.”
