At Hestia Rodney Women’s Refuge, we support wāhine and tamariki experiencing family violence — with safety, dignity, and care.
We provide safe, confidential accommodation for high-risk situations, alongside intensive, wraparound support. We are not emergency housing.

- Safe accommodation when it’s unsafe to stay at home
- Advocacy and support with Police, courts, lawyers, Oranga Tamariki, WINZ and other agencies
- Practical support to help you stabilise, access resources, and plan next steps

Do you Provide Housing?
We provide immediate safe accommodation specifically for women and children at high risk due to family harm. Our focus is on ensuring their safety during critical times, offering short-term support while working with them to transition to long-term solutions. However, we are not emergency housing and prioritize those facing urgent, high-risk situations.
Are Women's Refuge Services Confidential?
Yes. All our services are completely confidential. We prioritize the safety and privacy of the women and children we support.
Can I bring my children to the Refuge?
Yes, our safehouses are designed to accommodate women with children. We provide a secure and welcoming environment for families.
How is Women's Refuge funded?
We rely on government funding, grants, donations and support from the community, including businesses and volunteers.
Do you Support with Legal and Financial Issues?
Yes, we offer advocacy services to help women with protection orders, housing applications, financial assistance, and access to other necessary resources.
Can men access your services?
While our focus is on supporting women and children, we can direct men experiencing harm to appropriate services and resources.
